Anti-ICE protests erupt at a Home Depot
store in Manhattan, New York 15 December 2025
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is to change their tactics involving raids across the country, sources have said. Instead of sweeping raids that agents have carried out at locations including Home Depot, agents will now hone in on immigrants wanted for serious offenses. A source confirmed the change in tact to NewsNation, saying that teams under Commander Gregory Bovino would be responsible for the targeted operations. The source said that despite the changes, targeted operations already underway including Operation Catahoula Crunch in New Orleans would continue as normal. So far that operation in the Louisiana city has resulted in around 250 arrests in the last week. The DHS said the end goal is 5,000 arrests. Operation Catahoula Crunch was launched last week with Border Patrol having moved 250 agents to the city. According to a statement from DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin, some of those arrested have rap sheets including, homicide, child abuse and kidnapping. |
