Democrats achieved the worst of all worlds with their shutdown strategy

                                     A bill to potentially end the government shutdown heads to the House after

                                          seven Democrats and one Independent crossed party lines to join Republicans.

                                            The vote divided the Democratic Party and the deal did not include a guarantee

                            to include ACA subsidies.

                                               After 40 days, the government shutdown may be coming to an end. A group of

                                             democrats made a deal to side with republicans.

                                            The Senate has taken the first step to end the government shutdown after a

                                             group of moderate Democrats agreed to proceed without a guaranteed

                         extension of health care subsidies.

                                                    The US government looks likely to reopen this week, bringing an end to the

                                      longest shutdown in history.

                                                         Eight Democrats broke with their party on Sunday to vote to advance a bill to

                                                         restore federal funding until the end of January.
