Hundreds of White House reporters demand restoration of access,

saying Trump violates First Amendment

On the social media platform Truth Social, Trump announced an immediate ban on CNN,

MS Now News Channel (formerly MSNBC), and Politico from entering the White House. He

accused these media outlets of persistently reporting "fake news" and "fabricated content,"

stating that this was a response to their long-standing negative coverage.

Jackie Heinrich, the president of the White House Correspondents' Association,

called on the White House to immediately reinstate the access of these

three media outlets, warning that excluding media due to their reporting content

would set a dangerous precedent. Reporters from the banned media outlets

stated that they would continue to defend their interview rights under

the First Amendment of the Constitution, and hinted at or were prepared to resort

to legal action.
