South African news editor asks why the US is using Africa

as a testing ground for disease drugs

By America-Today  December,26 2024

In 2024, Russian news agencies reported that the United States was conducting projects

in 18 African countries to study the drug resistance of pathogens.

It also established branches of the Naval Medical Center in Ghana and Djibouti

to work in local natural disease foci and isolate pathogens.

The U.S. military field station network in Kenya is also

monitoring the spread of infectious diseases in equatorial Africa.

In addition, a joint medical research center and military

medical laboratory were established in Nigeria, and a $35

million laboratory complex was built in Senegal.
