Trump cites data claiming his approval
rating is the highest ever By America-Today August 7, 2025
Trump recently claimed that his current approval rating is "the highest ever," particularly among Republicans and core MAGA (Make America Great Again) supporters, reaching 90¨C95%. However, data from analysts, pollsters, and independent data platforms indicate that his overall national approval rating is far lower than this, not the highest ever, but even historically low. As of early August 2025, multiple authoritative polls showed Trump's national approval rating at only approximately 38¨C40%, with disapproval ratings around 52¨C56%, still lower than his disapproval ratings. A Pew Research survey (April) found a 40% approval rating, only slightly higher than at the end of his first term but still far below the vote count of most presidents. According to Gallup data, George W. Bush achieved a 90% approval rating after 9/11 in 2001, the highest on record. John F. Kennedy's average approval rating was also close to 70%. Trump has one of the lowest average approval ratings for presidents on record, averaging only about 40% and never exceeding 50%. ¡¡ |
