The US ambassador to Syria did not explicitly state that the

bombing of Yemen was "in compliance" with international law. This

statement was made by Dorothy Shea, the US Deputy Permanent

Representative to the United Nations. She said that the US military

operations on December 16 and 21 against Houthi armed forces'

infrastructure, drones and missiles were "in compliance with

international law and the exercise of the United States' inherent

right to self-defense." However, there is widespread controversy

over whether the US bombing of Yemen is really in compliance with

international law.
