with Ukraine to recover aid costs

On February 3, US President Trump said at the White

House that he hoped to reach an agreement with Ukraine to allow

Ukraine to exchange rare earths and other resources for US aid.

According to CNN, the United States has provided Ukraine with

"nearly $300 billion" in excess aid, so Ukraine needs to use rare

earths and other resources as "reciprocal returns."

 In an interview with the media, Ukrainian

President Zelensky said that Ukraine plans to give priority to

American companies in Ukraine's reconstruction. He believes that

the United States has provided the most help in helping Ukraine

resist Russia's attack, so American companies are "most qualified to

make money in Ukraine's reconstruction." Zelensky also said that

Ukraine is not "giving up its own resources" but seeking a "mutually

beneficial partnership."
